The air fryer is an appliance that has come into our lives and is here to stay. However, you have to know how to use it, including choosing the most appropriate recipe book. Kitchens have undergone a significant change with the arrival of the air fryer. This appliance has been a great surprise and its usefulness has amazed all lovers of gastronomy, both in Canada and in the rest of the world. However, the first thing to bear in mind is the list of utensils in order to use it correctly. Within this list is the paper for introducing the preparations.
Currently, there is a sector of the population that uses aluminum foil for the air fryer, as with conventional ovens. But there is another part that opts for vegetable. Which of the two options is the best? The answer to the question is in the following lines.
The best paper to use an air fryer
The company MasterPRO posted a video on Instagram explaining which is the most appropriate paper when making recipes with the air fryer, such as these ten examples of healthy ideas.
In the post, MasterPRO reveals that the best alternative for this kitchen tool is baking paper. “Treated with a layer of heat-resistant silicone, it allows air to flow around the food, achieving more even cooking, preventing sticking and without releasing harmful substances,” says the appliance brand.
As for aluminum foil, it points out that “being a dense and non-porous material, it blocks the circulation of hot air, preventing even cooking and making food less crispy”. Furthermore, “when it comes into contact with acidic ingredients, it can release metal ions that are transferred to the food”.
To demonstrate their hypothesis, they have accompanied the text with a video showing how to make some potato slices using each of the two papers. The result (in images) says it all…
Which foods are not the most appropriate for air fryer cooking
The air fryer, like any other appliance, has its limitations in terms of which foods are least recommended for use. In this article, we explain what they are and why.
We are talking, above all, about foods that are made with liquids such as soups, pasta or rice. It is also not advisable to cook broccoli or cauliflower, as they would lose texture. However, they can be incorporated in other ways, as in this example recipe that we explained some time ago.
Processed cheese is also not a very advisable food for an air fryer. However, if the appropriate container is used and with care, things change.
