Goodbye to the spoiled avocado: the new invention that keeps it fresh in the fridge for several days

A protector allows part of the fruit to be covered and thus prevents the oxidation process from accelerating. When the avocado is opened or hit, cell rupture occurs, accelerating the oxidation of the fruit. This is why it gradually darkens.

However, there is a new invention that can be used to protect the avocado a little longer. In this way, part of the oxidation process is interrupted.

Protected and in the fridge

The invention became popular on TikTok through the @barriossk profile. A video was shared on this profile showing the use of an avocado protector or lid. It is an object with a shape similar to that of an avocado.

Therefore, it ends up completing the fruit when it is cut in half. By fitting it over the fruit, it is prevented from being exposed to the cold of the refrigerator. This helps to slow down the oxidation process.

In the video, the user explained the process in simple terms. “You eat half and keep the other half in the refrigerator,” she said. She said this while showing the object and the state of the avocado after spending some time in the refrigerator.

The post prompted several users to share their own recommendations for avocado care. One person wrote, “You have to leave the seed in. That way it doesn’t turn black.” In the same vein, another user wrote, “Put lemon drops on it. You’ll thank me later.” This is because lemon interrupts part of the oxidation process.

For their part, several users took a humorous look at the post. “Who eats half the avocado? Who has avocado left over?” wrote one user. Another girl asked a similar question: “Do you guys have avocado left over to store?” In the market, this object can be found as an avocado protector or avocado lid and there are different options, in relation to the one seen in the video.
